GINKO
Ginko is an app that helps kids learn how to manage their own screen-time. It teaches self-regulation and reflection, while also guiding kids to discover more hobbies in the real world, and it gives parents an in-depth view of their child's inner world. They came to me with an amazing core brand and no designer on hand, and I brought it to life in the app and the website.

A brand with a whole world inside it.
Ginko came to me with a brand that was already a world of its own, felted and imaginative. The brand designer behind it did an amazing job, and I got to expand on it, turning that foundation into a full system for the app and the website.
A screen-time app kids actually want to open.
Most screen-time apps just cut kids off. Ginko, co-founded by a psychiatrist, teaches them to manage it themselves, then nudges them back into the real world. Kids are the customer, so it had to be immersive and fun without losing the science. I designed every flow for kids and parents alike, with friction where there should be friction and ease where there should be ease.
Ginko is in beta. Private access upon request.
My kind of brand, and an app I’d want for my own kids.
Working with Ginko felt like the right fit from the first call. I’m a parent who already thinks about screen time, and their brand is imaginative and playful in a way that comes naturally to me. The website came first: a landing page and welcome page made to get parents excited about something their kids could actually feel good using. From there, I carried that same felted world into the design system and the app.
